A foundation built around community, opportunity and lasting change.
Discover the story, mission, and philosophy behind Masani Foundation's focus on South India.
Who We Are
Supporting the people who know their communities best.
The Masani Foundation is a non-profit organisation working primarily across South India. We work alongside local organisations, charities and people already on the ground.
We believe that those who live in the community are the best equipped to identify where help is needed most. Our role is to provide the support and resources they need to thrive.
Our Mission
Create better futures for everybody in South India.
Our mission is focused on breaking cycles of child labour, poverty and hunger; protecting the environment; supporting sustainable development; raising funds; building awareness; and supporting practical initiatives that empower disadvantaged communities.
Why Masani Exists
Because a better future starts with opportunity. We believe that people need opportunity, resources and support to break cycles that have existed for generations.

The mango tree
A Symbol of What We Believe
The mango tree represents the organisation The Masani Foundation wants to become.
Generosity
A mango tree gives its fruit freely, asking nothing in return.
Growth & resilience
Real change takes time. Trees endure hard seasons and keep growing.

Abundance
There is enough when people share. We start from possibility.
Legacy
Planted today, giving shade and fruit for generations to come.
Our Values
The principles that guide how we work.
Abundance
Possibility rather than scarcity. We focus on the wealth of community knowledge.
Growth
Lasting progress. We value the patient work of building sustainable change.
Community
Change from within. We work alongside people, not just for them.
Sustainability
Social, economic, and environmental value that creates long-term impact.

Founder
Abhishek Rameshanand
I founded the Masani Foundation with a simple belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future.

Born in India and raised in both Tamil Nadu and New Zealand, South India has always been a deeply personal part of my life. I wanted to create something that could turn that connection into meaningful action.

For me, Masani Foundation is about more than providing immediate help. It’s about working alongside people and organisations who understand their communities and creating opportunities for lasting change.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve started building and excited to see where we can take it from here.

Trustee
Ophelia Muller
The Masani Foundation was born from the need to provide basic necessities, resources, and support to help create brighter futures for communities across India.

As a trustee, I feel incredibly privileged to help shape and support a vision that is grounded in impact, care and experience.

Having worked in the social services and not-for-profit sector, and after witnessing similar needs here in New Zealand, this role feels like a continuation of the work I’m deeply passionate about.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the Foundation’s mission alongside an inspiring group of people. I’m excited to share more about what we’re building and the support we hope to provide.
How We Work
Work with communities, not simply for communities.
1
Partner with local NGOs and community organisations already established on the ground.
2
Direct funding to practical projects and people who need it most without bureaucracy.
3
Aim for transparency; document projects and impact clearly for our supporters.
4
Build genuine long-term partnerships and deepen relationships as The Masani Foundation grows.
